Homeowners can now influence their Zestimates
For a while, homeowners could "claim" their home on Zillow and edit the details that the public could see. This editing never affected the "Zestimates" that Zillow posted about the home. Now, the engineers at Zillow have merged the two and if a homeowner claims the home and edits the details (i.e. changes the number of beds/baths, etc), the Zestimate will automatically change to reflect it.

As always, it's best to ask a Realtor (like me) or an appraiser to pull past sales and do a comprehensive analysis of the homes value to double check a Zestimate. Zestimates are notoriously off in the Bay Area. More details about this can be found here--
