Anatomy of home buying
I've been asked what a buyer needs to do to purchase a home. I'm sharing an old slide (nothing has changed in this process) that makes the whole process a bit more transparent and understandable.
Few notes--
-Research is what you need to do before you start spending your weekends at open houses and touring with a Realtor. Where do you want to live? Who is a great consultant to assist you (hopefully me!), what are you financial limitations and what do you need in a home? Remember: Realtor's shouldn't steer you towards certain areas because of race or any discriminatory purposes. You can look up crime maps on your own so you get an idea of what's happening in the area.
-Search is what you do online/driving around/attending open houses/checking out homes with your Realtor. If you need help searching, ask your Realtor (like me).
-Offer is one of the hardest parts of the process since it takes 2 parties in agreement to make a contract.
-Closing is the escrow process, there's lots to do so make sure you have a calendar of what the due dates are that everyone agrees to (buyers, sellers, all agents involved)!
